Windows - Disable the "Use the Web service to find the correct program" Dialog

 

Overview: When opening files with unknown extensions, Windows will commonly offer a "Use the Web service to find the correct program" dialog. To disable this:

1. Start REGEDIT.
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Microsoft | Windows | CurrentVersion | Policies | Explorer.
3. In the right pane, right click the window and scroll to NEW | DWORD Value.
4. Name it NoInternetOpenWith.
4. Double-click NoInternetOpenWith and change the value to 1.
