Outlook - PST Size Limits

In Outlook 2002 and previous versions, PST files were limited to 2GB in size. It was possible to exceed 2GB but doing so would cause problems and loss of data.

In Outlook 2003, PST files are in the Unicode format and can be as large as 20GB.

For earlier versions of PSTs that have exceeded 2GB and no longer allow access, there is a tool that will truncate the file back to 2GB. You'll lose data but you will be able to access the file again. The tool is called 2gb152.exe and can be downloaded from Microsoft:

2gb152.exe - Microsoft

2gb152.exe - Slipstick.com
