Exchange - Changing the Port Exchange Listens To

 

Overview: To configure Exchange 5.5 to work with the XWall software, the port that Exchange uses to listen for mail needs to be changed.

1. For XWall to work correctly, Exchange must be configured to listen on Port 24.
2. On the Exchange server, open C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\services with notepad.
3. Look for the line: smtp 24/tcp mail
4. Change the 25 to a 24 and save the file.
5. RESTART the Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Service.
