Certificate - Importing an ECA Certificate
1. In Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS and scroll
to INTERNET OPTIONS.
2. Click on the CONTENT tab.
3. Click on the CERTIFICATES tab.
4. Click on IMPORT.
5. Highlight the certificate file.
6. Click on NEXT.
7. Enter the password that was used to protect the file.
8. Select MARK THE PRIVATE KEY AS EXPORTABLE.
9. Click NEXT.
10. Click NEXT. (Note: The box "Automatically select
the certificate store based on the type of certificate" should remain
checked.)
11. Click NEXT.
12. Click FINISH.
13. You should see the message "The import was successful."
14. Click OK.
15. Highlight the certificate and click VIEW.
16. Click the tab CERTIFICATION PATH.
17. You should see the user's name and one that states VeriSign Client
ECA.
Certificate - Importing an ECA Certificate
Overview: It may be necessary to re-import a user's certificate if
theirs has become corrupt.
1. To import, open INTERNET EXPLORER.
2. Click on TOOLS and scroll to INTERNET OPTIONS.
3. Click on the CONTENT tab.
4. Click on CERTIFICATES.
5. Under the PERSONAL tab, click on IMPORT.
6. At the WELCOME TO THE CERTIFICATE IMPORT WIZARD, click on NEXT.
7. At the FILE TO IMPORT dialog, click BROWSE and locate the exported
certificate file. Select it and click NEXT.
8. At the PASSWORD dialog, type the password for the certificate. Select
the MARK THIS KEY AS EXPORTABLE option and click NEXT.
9. At the CERTIFICATE STORE dialog, leave the default of PLACE ALL CERTIFICATES
IN THE FOLLOWING STORE (Personal) and click NEXT.
10. At the COMPLETING THE CERTIFICATE IMPORT WIZARD, review the information
and click FINISH.
11. Click OK when notified that the import was successful. |
