About Me

I was born in DC but have grown up in Charles County. I've been in the Air Force, done a lot of theatre and work in the field of IT. History is a big interest of mine and I like music, movies, politics and pop culture. I've done karaoke only once in my life and my two beautiful daughters are the most important thing in the world to me.

I admire (and aspire to) intelligence, wit, pragmatism, candor and individuality.

I have a business, Walden Systems, that specializes in web design, pc repair and networking. Check it out if you need assistance in any of these areas.

Some folks I admire are Henry David Thoreau, Harry S. Truman, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt, Temple Grandin.

I've been thinking lately of starting a historical book discussion group.
My idea is to choose an interesting period, subject or biography in history and select a book about it. The group would meet and sections of the book would be assigned to be read for discussion at the next meeting.
It'd be a great way to cover a subject and hear others' perspectives of it.
I think a group of 6 - 8 folks meeting twice a month would be great.
If any of this sounds interesting, let me know so we can get started!
I think a great first book would be No Ordinary Time by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Goodwin won the Pulitzer Prize for this story of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt during the years of World War II.
If you've ever wanted to learn more about the Roosevelts and/or World War II, this would be a great way to do it!
